Adalah: Allah (SWT) is Aadil 2 comments

Explain the concept of Adalah using the same-volume-different-size concept.

After a little dig into the overflowing container cupboard and recycle bin, I found some containers of different sizes and shapes but of the same volume.

It’s a brilliant explanation of this very popular verse :

“O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of Allah, is the one with the best Taqwa’ Surely, Allah is Knows and is Aware’ (S.Hujarat:13)

At the beginning ask them if the containers are the same. Then ask them to pour water from one to the other (making sure not to spill any, use a base tray to catch any spillage)

My kids love water experiments and was a hit!

InshA hoping they understand and realize some of these very important things:

  • Things are not what they always seem!
  • Like the water they pour, Allah (SWT) has given each one of us, an equal ability to do our best in this world and the hereafter
It’s up to us to keep that water clean and pure to reflect Sibghatallah (2:138) or to let it go black and dirty and not reflect any colours
  • Allah has made everyone different so it’s interesting when we get to know them.
  • If they miss out on something in this world, Allah (SWT) will give it to them in the next.

Because Allah is Aadil – Always Fair.

PS: You could combine it with Arabic-letter learning: Ain ع is for Aadil
